'The Journey of Joy'
by Mila Renault and Robbi Carvalho
Welcome to our show, that is an inner exploration of self-discovery, and everything that nourishes us. It was through this personal path that Mila Renault and Robbi Carvalho met. Both architects, artists, and Brazilians—this alone could be enough to spark a friendship. But what connects them even more is their shared Journey: a sensitive gaze towards nature, the challenges and delights of being women, and spirituality expressed through art.
Our guide for the exhibition was a duet from a Brazilian poem/song by the master Cartola, 'Preciso Me Encontrar' ('I Need to Find Myself'). The common theme, colour palette, and format—this alone could be enough to form an exhibition. Yet, it is the magic of the intangible in what it resembles, even if distinct, that establishes the rhythm for 'The Journey of Joy'
*Any sold works will be shipped from Tuesday 12 November.
I need to find myself
Let me go,
I need to walk.
I go there to search,
to laugh so that I don't cry.
Let me go,
I need to walk.
I go there to search,
to laugh so that I don't cry.
I want to assist the sun in being born,
to watch the water of the rivers flow,
to hear the birds sing.
I want to be born,
I want to live.
Let me go,
I need to walk.
I go there to search,
to laugh so that I don't cry.
If somebody asks for me,
say that I'm only going to return
after I find myself.
I want to assist the sun in being born,
to watch the water of the rivers flow,
to hear the birds sing.
I want to be born,
I want to live.
Let me go,
I need to walk.
I go there to search,
to laugh so that I don't cry.
