ChromaLuxe printing is a process called dye sublimation used to print the images onto special Aluminium panels. Dye sublimation is a two step process, the first step is printing the image in reverse using sublimation inks onto a transfer paper. The image is then placed on top of the specially coated ChromaLuxe Aluminium panels and put into a large format heat press. The heat press heats up to 170 degrees and applies a ton of pressure which turns the sublimation inks into a gas which then gets infused into the special coating on the ChromaLuxe panels. ChromaLuxe’s unique coating allows prints to be showcased without the need for glass. ChromaLuxe metal prints are scratch resistant, waterproof and easily cleaned. ChromaLuxe metal prints were tested by Wilhelm Imaging Research and achieved a permanence rating of more than 60 years without fading or discolouring.

From his early years, Steve's passion for capturing the wonders of the world through his camera lens steadily grew. Starting with experiments in the darkroom, using film, then moving ahead with the advancements into digital photography, Steve's deep interest in this artistic medium has guided him onto a remarkable journey as a behind-the-scenes force, working on numerous television commercials and feature films. 

Wandering through the wild New Zealand landscape with his camera has been a profound learning experience for Steve, both in understanding the wildlife he aims to photograph and in gaining insights into his own character. No two days are ever the same; the wildlife and the dramatic landscapes they inhabit are always a challenge. Showing patience is key in this line of work...and it's clear he is deeply in love with every aspect of it. This dedication and love for capturing nature and wildlife are what makes his work truly stand out.
