Artist Bio
Caroline Peacocke, is a painter and printmaker based in the Waikato region. She draws inspiration from her local surroundings, architecture, abandoned buildings, and found objects. Initially, Caroline devoted herself to painting, working in her own studio while managing the demands of both family and her professional life. Eager to expand her creative repertoire, Caroline became involved with the Waikato Society of Arts (WSA), where she embarked on learning the art of etching and relief printmaking. Her engagement with the WSA eventually led her to teach experimental printmaking classes in 2012, a role that she found incredibly rewarding. For Caroline, the process of letting go of restrictions and allowing her work to organically evolve on the print surface brings a deep sense of satisfaction and often inspires entire collections.
