Artist Bio

Lindy McLachlan paints from her studio, nestled in the serene hill country farm of rural Pahiatua. She has a deep love for gardening and is captivated by the beauty of nature – from lush plants and blooming flowers, to the humble grass and the wild weeds. When she paints, it's as if she's right there in the garden, enveloped by the splendour of flora, striving to capture the essence of the communities within which they thrive. Fascinated by the natural growth of plants, she reflects on the human attempt to dominate our spaces, only to realise that the plants have their own rules, growing wherever they wish, in their own beautiful disorder.

Lindy has showcased her artwork at the esteemed Aratoi Art Museum and has been a finalist three times at the Wairarapa biannual Art Awards. Recently, Lindy led an engaging art workshop at the well-regarded annual Shepherdess Muster held in Motu, Gisborne. Her work is held in private collections both in New Zealand and abroad.
